This is what happens when a Mac Mini turns into the dark side
In this case we are not ditching OSX but just converting it into an XBMC machine.
Of course it has gone through "chapa & pintura" (some deep changes) with its original Core Duo cpu (32 bits) changed for a speedier Core 2 Duo (64 bits), the HD also was exchanged for one with more real state for the data and the original personality of the 1,1 Mac Mini was converted to 2,1 Mac Mini (I will just let the reader think about it ;-)
The exterior was coat protected, then painted with dark gray and then varnished with a thin mate film.
Also the upper side was painted with a (later learned cheap) black paint and also varnished twice.
Anyway, if Darth Vader ever had a Mac Mini I guess it would have been like this :-D

Mini Firewall Mark I (or 1.5...)
In order to recicle the defunct XBMC - WAF2 - Mark II I decided to create this small (but good looking) firewall.
It has an external laptop PSU (the converter is in the back side), an external adapter (user replaceable :-D ) and some other small perks that can be seen in the gif.
The HDD is a Compact flash to avoid any useles power consumption.
The motherboard has been protected as in the previous design to avoid any "small humans" interaction.
I reckon the back is not 100% finished since I should get rid of the elastic bands, but it is operational, and this is what I want, no more no less.
Hope you like it.

XBMC - WAF2 - Mark II
XBMC - WAF2 - Mark I is dead!!! Long live to XBMC - WAF2 - Mark II !!!
As you can see, the form factor of my previous HTPC was not completely of my taste os I decided to make a design a bit more "studied".
It remains with the same tech specifications (The innards are the same) but the externals have changed completely.
Hopefully you will like it as much as I do :-).

This is the last part where we will optimize first the environment and then we will perform finally a test run of the Kitti test. :-) Opt...

As the last post talks about fuel consumption I will spoil a little the news of the summer and I will talk about the new Miata consumption....
